Bug mishap. Driving down the road to find out no one put a cotter pin in the one wheel. Tire when one way, car the other. Luckily the bug and I are all right. Bug is going to the doctors next week for a checkup and the get the floors replaced. Hopefully it wont break the bank too badly. Hood has been painted and put on. Looks bloody sweet. Truck is now DONE with the exception of some new shoes. (rims and rubber). But that has been put on hold for a couple years until i get the bug done. Besides, i like the wheels which are on it, and I don’t want to spend any money on wheels till I decide whether to keep the truck rollin’ low, or to jack it up. Either way, it be a while before anything else is done.
Bug restoration is coming along slowly. With thanks to Dad, Alex and Adam. Adam just seems to “show up” right when im ready to pull the beast apart and is always willing to help with the demolition of parts; such as gutting rotten carpet and beating seats into submission. And a huge thanks to Dad for letting me use his driveway/garage during this time of restoration and also for helping out anyway he can; And to Alex for also doing anything he can to help get things done, and giving me some knowledge as we go so I can do some of this stuff for myself 🙂 .. (And the fact that he is letting me leach parts off of his floorless bug is also very very appreciated, and will be compensated as time goes on 🙂 ).
Restoration pics are updated regularly. Truck picks / couch picks / house pics will come along eventually.
