Trucks and Bugs and Golfs, oh My!

Well, I’ve joined my wife in the ’30 year old’ club. Don’t feel any older, so I guess thats a good thing. Another good thing is, Abby has hit the 6 month mark, and is doing well. Growing like crazy and doing new things every day.  Gonna have to put a bell on her pretty soon.  Once you put her on the ground, she rolls around the house in seconds. Cute as hell if you ask me.

Bug updates: Spoke with Dion the other day, and he’s hoping to have the engine finished off and ready to install early May.  So I have 2-3 weeks to get my stuff finished off. Once Dion gets it, engine goes in, tail end goes down, and then the door windows get fixed up. Then I can call it ‘done’ for the season and actually drive it around this summer.

Truck updates: Money sucker. Paul finished off the body work a few weeks ago. Body work came out excellent as always. Sadly, the paint matching did not, so I had to buy some new paint from another vender. Hopefully after the re-spray, it will match a lot closer.  This month I’ve also had to replace the 8 year old original GM battery, and both front wheel bearings. Ya, been an expensive month. On the plus side, I have finished the stereo wiring (just need a sub box for completion); put on the new mirrors and door handles;  layed in the bedrug (will make more permanent after the body shops done); and put in my K&N Cold Air intake.  Once the body work is done, the only thing left to do is put in my suspension which *still* hasn’t shown up. Until I book it in for tint/alarm/and find money for wheels. Then she’s done for the year. Not bad for the first 4 months.

Golf updates: Looks like the weather is finally settling down, and the Silverado has started doing my daily duty. So, the golf will be going back to my dad. After a trip to Smouts Garage that is. Little bugger doesn’t stop too well. Im hoping its nothing serious (read: cheap), and I can give it to dad in good working order this week without having to break the bank again.

Till next time…..
