Bugs Palace!

Sorry for the delay on this update. This past weekend, Shannons Dad and Step Mom held an open house for Shannon and I. (Thanks you’s very much!) And things went very well. We had a very large turnout, despite the fact it was 4×4 parking on the road only as the city of Hamilton doesn’t seem to clean the shoulders of the streets in the surveys. Id like to thank everyone who attended very much, as the support means a lot to Shannon and I. Without our families, I don’t know how we’d survive. (I know i personally couldn’t get by without my family and extended family!!).  Another milestone completed.

Wedding list is almost final. And I think we have our invitations narrowed down to a few choices. Time to just pick one. Flowers will hopefully be picked out Saturday as we have a meeting with the florist in Hagersville.

Truck is running somewhat smooth again now that I’ve taken the weight out of the bed. Note to self: if you lower your truck, and need to drive it in the winter, make sure you notch the frame, as less then an inch of clearance makes for a stiff ride on country roads!!! But the weights out, and I’m hoping to have her notched for next winter. In the mean time im hoping i can scrounge up an extra 150-200 or so to get a roll pan and shaved handle kit for my truck so when I get my ding fixed, I can save some money at the paint shop buy doing it all at once. Then its just wheels, and she’s done.  Man i need cash. Oh well.. Things will work out

Alex has finished refinishing Grandmas floor in Cayuga. If anyone is looking to have their floors done, don’t call him. Not because he can’t do it, cause, he does AMAZING work, but because he’s likely to go homicidal. I for one have no idea where he gets his drive from. I’m not afraid of work myself, but he’s a bloody machine.

Well, it finally happened. Much to my surprise, I ACTUALLY experienced a snow day! Yep. That’s right, a day to stay home cause its too snowy outside. Perks of the job I guess. On the down side, I was up at 7:45, and didn’t go back to bed. Shannon needed a ride to work as she was a wee bit dizzy. Plus I figured keep the 4×4 incase I decided to venture out today.

Not too much accomplished today. Unfortunately Slackware 9 wont be out for a few more weeks (months?!) so I decided to hold off on rebuilding my main computer as ive been wanting to. Especially since I’ve been able to get my works email program to work within Linux I’m actually looking forward to getting back into a fresh install of slackware and seeing what kind of stuff i can’t break. I also got to clean  up a bit.. Woot. Oh well.. Needed to be done.

185 Days till the wedding only 6 months to go! I can’t believe its MARCH already. Speaking of March, Shannon’s birthday is March 23 and mine is the 30th. We will both be 25 this year. (I Think). This weekend is our “Engagement Party”. Its an open house at Shannon’s dads place. Come one, come all. Fire me and email if you need directions.

No bug updates this week. Spent all weekend in Cayuga with Dad and Alex trying to get the wood floors sanded down and refinished so that they can sell the house. Long, tiring hard work. I was only there 2 days, and I am zonked. Can’t imagine how Alex and Pa are feeling, cause I know there was still quite a bit to do after we finished up Sunday night.

GRANDMA and GRANDPA are home from Florida finally. They been in the hot sun for a bit over a month, and I’m glad they made it home without getting stuck in any of the storms which rolled through the US while they made the trip home. Speaking of snow, it can all melt and go to hell  now. I enjoyed winter, but enough is enough. Stop. No more. Me and the paint on the truck just can’t handle any more. Bring on the warmer weather. At the very least, dry, snow/ice/salt free weather. Thanks.

Not much more to say. Truck is still dinged. Income tax still aint paid off. and the wedding fund isn’t growing as fast as one would like. I need money.

Man I’m looking forward to spring. Starting to get the mid winter blues I think. So much I want to do, just don’t have the desire or drive to do it while the weather is as cold, snowy as it is now.

Wedding plans still moving along, slowly but surely. Got the wedding list pretty much sorted out. Got a couple people who i want to invite, just have to go over the numbers. I don’t want to over book the hall. Sucks being so popular. Going to look at flowers this weekend. (yay). 2 weeks till the engagement party. Should be interesting.

Car progress has slowed to almost a halt with occasional visits to the garage. Hard to work when you can’t feel your hands. Alex has made more trips then i have as of late. 15 minutes here, 45 there. Just too cold to really have at it. Spring is coming, and hopefully we can do a couple good marathon weekends, and get a large portion done. 198 days to go. At first I was afraid of running out of money before we get done, right now I’m more worried about time. We’ll get there. *warm weather, and god willing* 😉  If weather and time don’t permit, I will just sell my soul.. Should be enough to cover most the work, however, I was hoping to use it to buy my 20’s. Choices choices

Truck is still giving me the glare of death every time i look at it. She’s still mad I haven’t fixed the ding. I’m waiting till the weather warms and salts gone so the paint has a chance to cure. Also hoping i can scrounge up 250$ for an air dam and a roll pan so i can get them painted at the same time, and hopefully save some $.
