Christmas shopping is complete. Thanks mom and girls for picking up those last minute items for me… Christmas is one of those times i wish i were rich.. But im not.. so deal with it 😉

Have came to an executive decision. Truck will remain lowered in some fashion for as long as i own it. Thats not to say that it will be 2/4 forever. (hell, might not even be 2/4 by summer.. but who knows).. It screams to be closer to the ground. I should have listened to all those who have lowered trucks. “2/4 is just a detour/stop along the route to 4/6”. 4/6, Bags, who knows. I would love to bag my baby, but the cost and the added mechanics is overwhelming. To many choices.  I will need to get some new rubber by spring/summer. If all works out, i will be getting some 18″ wheels all around and some 285/55/18s and a 4/6 drop ;-)…

Speaking of lowering, im going to get my replacement beam for the bug tomorrow morning. The front beam is quite beaten up on the bug, and the likelyhood of it passing a safety as it was is very questionable. So I ordered a new one. And  since i had to get a NEW one, i figured, lets go adjustable. (not like it will ever be stock height).. Bug will be 2-2.5 inches lower in the front, and once we get it all together, a couple quick cranks of the rear torsions will bring the bum into line with the front.

Only a few more days till Christmas. A week today in fact. Ive almost completed ALL my Christmas shopping. Not bad for a guy who normally doesnt start for another 2 days. Yay Me. Bug is coming along slowly. Got all the fenders off, and started sanding them down. Came to the realization: need 4 new fenders. I went to Johns Bug Shop in Niagara falls. He’s a little further out then Marks Bug Barn, but prices are quite a bit less. (1600 in parts at MBB, is only 1250 TAXES IN!!! at Johns, for the exact same parts).  Biggest difference is mark tags you for the shipping charges where as Johns dont. Oh well. Im sure both will see plenty of my money in the next little while. Picked up the front apron and spare tire well. Also got a fender, but gonna need to return it, as its for 75+. Will take it back when i pick up the front beam + 4 new fenders. Hopefully by then Alex and I will have been able to get the corners welded up, and the inside primed. (a guy can dream cant he!!!)  Parts should be ready for me any day.

Elevator syndrome is eating at me. Though i said id never do it, i am debating putting the truck up. (but in a big way). Considerring going from my 2/4 drop to a 7″ lift. Possibly a little more if i do the body lift as well. I will have to do some hard thinking before i decide. I dont want this one going up and down.  Eany Meany Miney  Moe.
