Bugs Palace!

My car shopping has been fairly effective. I’ve spent many hours reading, researching, and visiting dealerships on my travels. I’ve finally got it down to 3 cars. The Audi A4 Sedan, the Subaru WRX, and the VW GTi. I am leaning heavily towards the Subaru’s simply for the fact that they have more power, and its something new that we haven’t owned before. The Audi is a wonderful car, but I feel I owe it to myself to branch out a little further this time. Besides, there is a strong (very strong) possibility Shannon will end up with an A4 (wagon) once her Jetta lease is up in a year or two. I love the GTI, but I am really liking the potential of all-wheel-drive. That said, I think I may wait a couple months for the interest rates to settle down before buying. Unless I find an uber car at a great price.

On the computing front, I am one step closer to ridding my house of all Windows computers. I recently picked myself up a MacbookPro (15inch, C2D, 4GB, etc). I opted to get the previous generation, and saved myself 500$. The new ones are beautiful, but the differences to me did not add up to 500$. I’m very happy with my choice (now a few months later). With me getting the MBP, Shannon has inherited my regular Macbook to replace her deadish IBM. She seems very happy with it and made the ‘switch’ with very little effort. Now, if I can simply find a MacMini to replace my file/web server with, I would be set. Sadly I have yet to find a decent used one with a reasonable price tag attached.

Christmas time I upon us. Shannon and I took Abby for her first real tree. She had one last year, but she was too young to come with us last year to cut it down, so that did not count. And what a tree. Standing in at 10’2, it is a bit of a monster. And to say it looked funny strapped to the roof of the Golf would be an understatement.

I still have a couple hundred photos that I need to sort and upload, but thats looking like it will have to wait till Christmas holidays (next week), as I simply have not been able to find the time.
