Edit: Happy birthday Dad!
… and all the other November babies
Sorry, ignore the random South Park quote in the topic.
Well, the end of October came and went, and sadly the beetle didn’t recieve its long awaited paint job. Paul was busy with some family stuff, and is now getting slammed at work again. At this point, I don’t know when he will be able to get it sprayed. At this point, I’m hoping it’s a Christmas present.
Since the bug hasn’t been finsihed, I’ve kept myself busy working on the MINI. I’ve actually got alot of little things done. New amp installed for my sub. Lets just say the sub is much happier with 400watts then it was with 60watts. Also, Kevin was able to resurrect my old Fusion amp. Bumping up the front and rear channels to nearly 100watts from their old 35watts they were getting previously. System sounds fantastic. Also, while working on the stereo system, I also mounted and wired in my C.B. Radio. No, I’m not becoming a trucker, but the ability for short distance radio is going to be handy for road trips and commutes with friends down the highway. Oh, and of course a little snow boggin’ this winter with Mr. Fahey. Providing he gets his C.B. back in the car.
Speaking of Kevin; Its official. He and Ashleigh have bought a new home together. I have only seen one pic so far, but looks good! Very happy for you guys. Let me know when the move date is, and I will make sure to rest up the night before 🙂
Lastly, my new shed is nearing completion. It looks awesome out there. Gonna be so nice to have another 200sq feet of storage. I will finally be able to clean out my garage and basement. Thanks Dad!
And in with the new… New car that is. Friday evening Shannon and I went to Burlington after work and picked up her new car. A brand new 2006 Jetta 2.0T It’s pretty hot I must say. Shannon needs to get some lighter shoes, as this thing is quick. I can’t imagine this thing with a chip in it, but I am sure we will be able to some time next year 🙂 40 Extra horses, and 85 foot pounds of torque, hell yes. Normally I wouldn’t post this till after we had made the rounds and showed everyone, but the way our schedule is right now, I wouldn’t get to posting it for quite a while.
More new. New paint. So far it’s only found its way to my house, and Visa statement, and now to Pauls house. Current plan is to paint the car this weekend, barring any other issues this week. Only real question left is, 3 or 4 coats of candy 🙂 I guess that decision will be made in the paint booth, as the colour actually hits the car.
Even more new. New asphalt. Finally, after 2.5 years in our home, the town finally got around to having our street paved with a final coat of black top. Looks pretty sweet. Makes the transition to the driveway a bit smoother without the 1″ drop from the curb to the old black top.
Lastly, new shed. Dads been real busy working on my new shed. The framing is pretty much all up now, and it’s looking sweet. Can’t wait to fill it with Christmas decorations, old stuff I can’t part with, dirt bikes, etc. Gonna be great. Hopefully the weather behaves for the next little bit so we can get it all done.
