Happy day before your birthday dad. Yes, I know I said I wasn’t going to specifically mention names this month for birthdays, but hey, the old guy turns 50 tomorrow. I can’t just ignore that. Hope you have a good day, and you put that new toy of yours to some good use.

Got some more work done on the bug today. Kevin stopped in, and we continued on with the front end. Trunk is all cleaned up and sanded down. First coat of primer has been applied. Tomorrow I will do a bit more sanding to smooth it down and then touch up primer where need be. Then its ready for the black paint. Almost time to start running all those pretty wires.

Pictures of the work done over the past few weeks HERE

I think before we run the wires, I may concentrate on getting the engine bay completed. Which will require me finding some Por15, or something of the like to keep the engine bay from rusting in the future. Its already sanded and smoothed with a quick coat of primer. Would just like to put something on there to keep rust out. Time for some research tonight.

Happy Birthday to Katie, Dad, and all the other November babies. As most people know 80% of my family seems to have been born in and around November. So to take the easy way out and to ensure not to forget anyone, I simply won’t mention names 🙂 If your birthday is in November, Happy Birthday to You.

It’s been a crazy month for me so far. Work is pulling me in 10 different directions. None of which are any fun lately.  Shannon and I decided to put Maui off till next year. Our traveling partners and us are all in the same situation. Low on funds. Shannon and I with the new house, and them with the wedding plans for next summer just makes things tight. Its all good. Now when we go we can relax and not worry so much about money.

Now onto my next mental dilemma. I’m still toying with the idea of trading in the TDI.  Now don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my VW.  And I can’t see driving anything BUT a VW. However, I’m at a point with my car where I’m either going to have to deal it, or keep it forever. Right now, if I do the math right, my car is worth exactly the same as a GTI with the options I want. So if the dealer can find me one, it should be a straight swap. Differences would be, 2 doors instead of 4, gas not diesel, allot more power and sportiness, leather interior. I know it don’t sound like a lot to most people, but I’m a car nut. I like fast cars (even though I’m an old lady on the road), and I enjoy having a sporty car to play with. I’m not a kid anymore, but I’m also not an old man just yet 🙂  I would be giving up rear doors and my mileage would go down. Still would be better then most vehicles on the road. Can’t really compete in mileage against a diesel unless  your looking at a hybrid. *yuck*.  I don’t know what to do. Friday I’m going in to talk to Dan at Henderson’s VW in Hagersville. Hopefully the numbers can help me decide.

There is yet another VW in the family. As of 1 week ago today, Jordon was the proud owner of a 98′ VW GTI. Sweet little car. Reminds me a lot of Shannon’s’ old 95′ GTI, except this one is blue. Good job Jord. Don’t sweat the 5 speed. It will be second nature in a couple weeks. Now, about those .:R32 body kits 🙂

I jacked the front end of the bug up last night and adjusted the front beam to allow for some more access around the front wheels. Man it looks funny up around stock height. I’ve had it lowered since the day we put the bean in. Oh well. Once the wiring and body is complete, she’s going back down 🙂
