What a week. I spent Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in training in Mississauga. All I can say is thank God I don’t have to fight Toronto traffic every day. 10-12 hours worth of travel time in 3 days. That’s just stupid. Especially knowing that during off hours, I have made that trip in about 35 minutes. However,  I have learned a great deal about Windows 2003 Server. So I suppose mission accomplished.

On to happier news. FRIDAY WE GET OUR HOUSE.  We have spoken with the builder and we will be done on time. Tomorrow night (Thursday) we get to do a walk through of our new home, and check out everything to make sure everything is as it should be. IE: perfect. After the walk through, we head to the lawyers office again, to finalize the papers. And then the house is officially ours. Well; Ours and the bank for about the next 20 years. We are still unsure if we get the keys tomorrow or Friday. I know the closings not till Friday, but technically, Midnight tomorrow night is Friday 🙂 Will see soon I guess.

Packing has been a non stop game around the townhouse for the last week or so. Shannon has been an absolute trooper. I worked my ass off carrying the big stuff out, but the weather, training and commute has left me pretty much drained. I cleaned out the office, garage, and helping her with some other stuff, but she has really taken charge with the  packing.  She even stayed home and packed while I went out to the VW gtg. I guess she gets more done when I’m not in her way.

Speaking of drained, I’m heading to bed soon. Move the last of the boxes to the garage, and I’m done.

Bugs OUT

PS: I will be with out high speed internet from Friday morning till sometime Wednesday. Therefore, My web page will be down. Do not be alarmed.

Happy Mothers day to all you mothers out there. Especially the bestest mom in the whole wide world. MINE!  Yep, thats right, if you call anyone other then her “Mom”, all I can say is the best you could possibly have is 2nd best. But I stop keeping score after first place, so I’m afraid I dont know who is actually in second/third/etc place. You can figure that out yourself. Hope you have a great day Ma. We will be coming out to see you soon. Just finishing some stuff up around the house, and then on our way.

Speaking of houses. Ours is about 12 days away from completion. TWELVE DAYS!. I stopped in the other night, and they have the entire place cleaned out. Drywall is complete. The entire place has been primered for paint. And the first floor has the first coat of paint layed down. One more coat downstairs, 2 more upstairs, and its time to put in the floors and cuboards and some odds and sods to finish and we will be READY to move in. Well, the house will be ready for us anyways. However, we still have much packing and prepping to do on our end. When I say much, ya, I mean a whole heck of a lot.

19 Days to go. Crunch time is getting really close. Shannon and I have been spending pretty much any spare time we have packing and cleaning and sorting everything out. We aren’t in bad shape, but there is still no end in sight to this job.  We will get there. And it will be fantastic.

Speaking of jobs; as many of you know Shannon had her final day of work with the City of Hamilton on Thursday (April 29th). She was a very emotional girl for most of last week, and even this weekend. I can’t blame her. It has been a bit hard giving up a job she loves, and leaving her friends that she works with to take on a new job, which in time I hope she will have the same attachment too. Unfortunately until then, she’s gonna be home sick for the City. Tomorrow (Monday May 3rd), Shan starts her new job with the Town of Haldimand. Same money, more benefits, and much closer to the new home. Instead of the 45 minute trip to work (depending on traffic), she will be 10-15 minutes from work. MUCH better in my opinion. Once she settles into the new job, I am sure she will feel the same.

House is getting there. Dad and I stopped in last week. Interior is being cleaned right now, so they can paint, capret and throw down the tiles. Then its time for the final grade on the lot, and sodding of the yard. THEN we move in. They keep assuring me they will be done on time with no problems. Right now I’m a little nervous, but hopeful. Will see in about 2 weeks how things are.

Be back sometime this week when I have more to say.
