Spring has sprung(ish)….

Winter is coming to a close! The best way to know when it was ending for many years was by the passing of the Figure Skating Carnival up at the Hagersville arena. Abby, Reese, Holden , Arizona and Scarlette all did amazing! So did all the other kids as well! Brings back so many memories of being younger and watching my sisters and many of my friends putting on a show. However, I feel this may be Abbys final year. She enjoys it, but not enough to continue on. We will see how she feels in a few months. Right now shes happy to be retiring after “going out on top”. Proud of this kid.

While Abby has been busy with skating this winter, Joe has found a new love for skateboarding. The unfinished kids play room in the basement has been his very own training grounds. Hes been learning new tricks and putting on shows. Nice to see him finding a new hobby to do that keeps him active! Keep it up buddy! I have a feeling I’ll be building ramps before long

With winter finally coming to a close its time to start looking forward to the summer! I decided I’ve had enough of the winter, so I pulled the Triumph out of the shed so I can start prepping it for the season. I’ve got a couple upgrades to install before it hits the road. Namely a new 45 tooth rear sprocket and a RAM mount cell phone holder. While I’m at it the old girl needs a proper detail from top to bottom. Hopefully only a few more weeks!

Jeep tires will likely be swapped out before the end of the month. Even if we happen to get a bit more snow, the mud tires will certainly handle the roads well enough. Good ole’ Jeep is still going strong. She has 205,000Km right now and 3 months of payments left. Going to great not having that payment coming out of the bank every month.

Home renos are STILL ongoing. It’s been 7 months now and I feel the inside projects are nearly coming to a close. Not that there isn’t a bunch more to do, but I think Shannon and I are about ready for a break. Since my last update we’ve replaced the water pressure tank for the cistern, added a water filtration system and had the gas fireplace replaced under warranty. Shannon has also started priming the kids playroom. Over the next couple weeks she will finish painting the playroom completely, I will frame and finish a mantle around the fireplace and hopefully a new gas for the BBQ will be installed.

With the inside renos nearly ready for a hiatus, we’re getting ever closer to starting this damned garage. Because, when you are tired of working on the house, the most logical steo would be to add additional buildings to work on. Waiting on one final quote right now and then taking all the info to the bank hopefully in the next couple of weeks. God willing, we’ll be breaking ground in early May.

Finally, I’d like to wish my wonderful wife the happiest of birthdays. Forty-one has never looked so good! I hope you enjoy your gift. I just wish I had the nerve to join you. Love ya babe!
