Happy New Years eve. Couple little updates here and there. First off I forgot to mention that my trucks warranty has expired. Yep. I hit 60,000Kms in JUST over one year. And GM said it should take 3.. pffft.. Silly Buggers…..And before the mothers who read this yell, Shannon took the picture from the passenger seat and reached across.

Some new pictures in the photo Gallery for your enjoyment. Armstrongs Christmas; VanDalens Christmas (with some boxing day shots at the Shoups); and even some Thanksgiving pictures i forgot about.

New bug shots should be coming soon. We have the front beam out and Alex has started building steel patches to weld on hopefully in the next few weeks. Once the welding and rustproofing is done, its re-assemble time. I make it sound sooo easy dont i ๐Ÿ™‚

Also have been nominated for New years get together at my place. Come one, come all

Ho ho ho has came and gone. Got together with family and had an excellent holiday. Despite my truck getting stuck and sliding into a sign causing a small dent in the rear quarter of the truck. Should pop back into place. Hopefully try and do that today.

HERE are the pictures from Christmas eve and day from Aunt Linda and Uncle Shoupies house. Dinner and everything was excellent. Also in the restoration page i have a couple new pics of the bug fenderless and the new adjustable front beam ๐Ÿ™‚ Bug will soon be closer to the ground

Christmas shopping is complete. Thanks mom and girls for picking up those last minute items for me… Christmas is one of those times i wish i were rich.. But im not.. so deal with it ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have came to an executive decision. Truck will remain lowered in some fashion for as long as i own it. Thats not to say that it will be 2/4 forever. (hell, might not even be 2/4 by summer.. but who knows).. It screams to be closer to the ground. I should have listened to all those who have lowered trucks. “2/4 is just a detour/stop along the route to 4/6”. 4/6, Bags, who knows. I would love to bag my baby, but the cost and the added mechanics is overwhelming. To many choices.ย  I will need to get some new rubber by spring/summer. If all works out, i will be getting some 18″ wheels all around and some 285/55/18s and a 4/6 drop ;-)…

Speaking of lowering, im going to get my replacement beam for the bug tomorrow morning. The front beam is quite beaten up on the bug, and the likelyhood of it passing a safety as it was is very questionable. So I ordered a new one. Andย  since i had to get a NEW one, i figured, lets go adjustable. (not like it will ever be stock height).. Bug will be 2-2.5 inches lower in the front, and once we get it all together, a couple quick cranks of the rear torsions will bring the bum into line with the front.
