WOW! two updates in one month? Well, I’m sure there will be one more this month 🙂  .. Couple updates.

#1. I’m an idiot. Forgot to mentionShannon’s new toy.  2000 Chevrolet Blazer. Black, 2 doors, 4×4, sun roof… its perfect 🙂
 

#2. Thanks to Dan for picking up my parts 🙂   DJM CalMax 2/4 drop kit with 4 drop shocks to make it corner like a slot car. Truck goes in Friday for the big drop. Check back this weekend for some before and after shots.. Gonna look and ride like a dream. FINALLY getting the truck where I want it. Hell, I’m running outta stuff to do

Learned a couple things this week. For example. When shutting down a server which hasn’t been powered down in likely 1.5  years, MAKE SURE there is a backup ;-. Yep, you guessed it. I shut a computer down to do some upgrades on it. Powered it back on (before even doing anything to it), and got a not so happy OS NOT FOUND error. Not a big deal you may think (as I did). NT is a relatively east install right? Well it is. However, when the drive is partitioned into 4 partitions, one which has ALL the home directories for all the staff (including hundreds of admin documents), none of which were being backed up as one would have suspected them to be, things aren’t so easy. Tomorrow morning I am going to try a transplant of the electronics from a twin drive. Cross your fingers. If this doesn’t do it, its going to the Data Recovery Lab. And if that don’t do it, I really don’t want to be the person who breaks it to the secretary that 5+ years of data went bye bye.

Despite the lack of back up procedures in works at the schools, /me is going to implement my own. Even if no one else does it, I’m covering my own ass. I don’t want this happening again. Even if its not my fault

Well, so much for my “lets not wait a month to update” ;( 

Not a WHOLE lot going on right now. Summers here, and coming on strong. Slow start, but 35-40degree temperatures is certainly letting us know its here.

I have been on a selling spree as of late.  My main machine *dual800*, Shannon’s machine *dual500*, are both sold and being shipped to their new homes this week. (one leaves tomorrow AM). Enjoy her Hacky, she served me well for the whole 2 months I had her. I also returned Shannon’s 17” and my 2nd 19” monitors, sold my PS2 to Alex, and am trying to sell my Mac and dual PII 300 (100$ US if your interested)

 Why am I selling all my loot you may ask? My truck of course. I figure sell off 3 or 4 of my machines, and sell off hardware I don’t use, and get a new mobo/cpu for Shannon and I to share (her 20 minutes a month may be hard to work around!!!),  and also am going to lower my truck.  Still deciding on either DJM or Belltech. DJM is supposedly nicer ride (more stock like), but Belltech is a whole lot easier to get here in Canada. I’m decided NOT to slam it all the way down (4” inch in the front, 6” in the back). Instead I’m only going to lower the front 2 or 3 inches, and the back 4”. I’m not ready to cut a notch in my frame just yet J  When I got a winter beater and get around to throwing Air Ride suspension in, she’s going all the way down. But till then 2(3)/4 will sporten up the suspension nicely, and clean up the hideous wheel well that I always seem to find myself fighting.

And while I’m lowering it, figure add some rice. Purple or blue are my top picks right now. 

Hopefully by the time I get around to updating this page again, I will be running a little closer to the ground, and have some fresh pictures to show off. Till then…..

Damn what a crazy month and a bit. Lets recap:

·       Adopted two beautiful Chihuahuas Chewie and Bekka (chew-Bekka)

·       New jobs

·       Cottage weekend (over a gig of photos, coming soon)

·       Nerf bars and Speed grill for the truck (ya ya , coming soon!)

I’m exhausted. But everything is going good. Still getting stuff moved in and settled in, but things are finally shaping up.  Our puppies have adapted really well, and even behaved themselves at my moms house over the holiday weekend while Shannon and I went for a weekend at the cottage. (thanks mom/dad/girls for watching them!)

Hopefully I wont wait another month before updating, but well.. you know me.

BTW, I have been toying with the idea of setting up a web based bbs, for shits and giggles. What you do think?
