The house that Babe built ….

Finally, I can scratch “Go to Yankee Stadium” off my list of things to do. During the August long weekend, Shannon, Abby and I joined Jeff and Cathy in New York City. They were nice enough to put us up in a swank hotel in downtown Manhattan, and Jeff was also able to get us tickets to Yankee Stadium for a game between the Yank’s and Angels. For those who don’t know, this will be the last year for the historic ball park, as the team will be moving next door to a new stadium next season. We did all the touristy things in NYC. Took a bus ride around the city, road subways, sail boat tour around the harbor walked through Central Park, visited the World Trade Center, and walked the streets around Times Square/Broadway/etc. While we were in NYC, Shannon’s Aunt Barb, and cousin Brittany were in the same hotel and doing some site-seeing/shopping to celebrate Brittany’s Birthday. We had a lot of fun with the entire group, and now are counting the days till we can go back to the city and see the new Yankee Stadium and check out more of the sites that we simply didn’t have the time or cash to do on this trip. Thanks for everything Jeff/Cathy! Pics from the trip are HERE.

Since my last post, Fisherville Fun Day has come and gone. Once again, it was a lot of fun. Even though we got rained on a little bit. Abby loved the parade and pony ride. Thanks Brittany! And thanks Aunt Val/Uncle Brett for everything. Especially the spicy sausages. Pics from that day are HERE

Donna and Grant finally got their new place. Its only a couple hundred feet from my parents, but its still nice to see them out on there own, in their apartment. The place is coming along very nicely. Donnas compulsion to have everything match and ‘work together’ has come into play, and works very well. Congrats on the new place guys!

Lastly, its been a baby popping kinda of summer. Jim and Alicia had a baby boy, Andrew. Foxxxy and Melissa had girl number 2, Julianna. And Melanie and Jeremy had a boy, Michael.

W00t. Summer is here!

Been a while since I’ve posted, and lots has happened. Where to begin?

Florida 🙂 Mom and Dad took us all on trip to Florida again this year. It was awesome. We stayed at an incredible suite in Orlando. I can’t recommend this place enough. We did the normal tourist stuff: Went to disney; shopped; swam; ate. It really was nice to get away with the family again. Abby was awesome on her first (and second) plane rides. Wasn’t scared at all. Nor did she cry. Couldn’t ask for anything more then that. Sadly, while we were down there, she caught something, and ran a scary temperature. A quick run to the hospital (another first for my baby) and she was hopped up on drugs and back to her old self within about 12-18 hours. Mommy and Daddy were pretty scared, but in the end, she bounced back and we continued our awesome trip. Pictures of the trip are HERE. Car show pics HERE.

My first official Fathers Day has come and gone. My loving wife and daughter bought me a Nintendo Wii. It has been a lot of fun. Shannon and I have stayed up many nights bowling, playing tennis, and other fun stuff. I recently picked up the Wii Fit. Help get us back in shape, and have fun doing it 🙂 Thanks guys! love you very much.

Couple vehicle updates…

The truck is pretty much done for the year. Looks pretty sweet if I do say so myself. All thats really left to do is get a nice set of wheels and tires. Prehaps later this summer. Sadly budget doesn’t allow right now. HERE are the most current pics. Go HERE to see the complete list of what has been done so far.

The bug has had a really busy time over the last month or two. After Paul and Alex finished the carpet and floor pans, the car was towed to Dions place. (the mod shop). Dion has been busy finishing the rebuild of my engine, lowering the rear end, and finishing up some other odds and sods for me. I should be getting the car back this coming week. Will be nice to have it home again, running, and ready for me to finish it off. Hopefully there isn’t too much more to do. Basically need to double check all nuts and bolts, finish tidying up wiring, and put in the rest of my interior. Then drive it for the summer. Hopefully the carb Dion has built me will hold together for the season. I know it will need to be replaced with something better, but it should work for now. Thanks for all the help Dion. And I’m sorry it was such a headache.

Speaking of the bug HERE are this years June Jitterbug pics.
Sorry for the delay folks, life seems to keep getting in the way of me updating my life 🙂

More to come soon. Another trip, babies being born, and the bug will soon be home. Stay tuned!

Drop it like its hot…

Well, with the first of April, I officially gave up the Golf. Dad seems to be having a lot of fun driving the old heap around. Sad news is, after many years of service, the ‘Blue Bus’ has finally been retired. RIP in scrap yard heaven!

Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve spent many hours in the garage, working on the trucks suspension. Kevin came over one weekend, and we got the rear end lowered 6″. Went in fairly easy, just time consuming. We gave up and quit at midnight. Over the next week to 10 days, I spent several hours in the garage with help from Matt, Grant and Aaron to finish off the front end. Would have gone much quicker had the balljoints not been such a bitch to pop. In the end, the trucks lowered, and looks awesome. Thanks for all the help guys! Since then, I have got the alignment done, installed my bedrug, had tint put on the front doors/windshield and also had my alarm and new muffler installed.  (Thank Mike for the alarm help!) Was a very busy month the truck. That said, truck is pretty much done until I can find some money for wheels, hood, and headers.

The truck isn’t the only vehicle to get some loving. Alex and Paul have been nice enough to help me out with the bug again seeing as I’ve been swamped getting my truck done and back on the road. The carpet kit has been installed. Hopefully will get it towed up to Dions soon to have the engine installed and the last couple things done.

I’ve got more to post, but I will do so in a week or two.

Pics of the truck will be HERE once I get them uploaded.
