Guess where I was last year on this day? Getting married. I can’t believe its been a year already. It’s gone so fast, we haven’t even got the photos developed from the photographer yet J Truth be told, we only submitted the proofs for printing last month. Hey, I’m lazy and slow. Suck it up.

Anyways, it has been a fantastic year. Everyone always told me that the first year of marriage is the hardest. These people we obviously not talking about my wife. If this year was difficult, the rest of our lives together will be a breeze. And I for one am looking forward to it. I heart you jackass.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!! 29 years ago today my mom was born. Give or take a couple years ;-). Hope you have a great day. Shannon and I will see you soon.

Also, some other birthday wishes go out to Aunt Val, Adam Wybenga, Mary-Jane, Cathy, Aunt Barb, Allison, and if I missed you, I’m sorry as I am just going off the top of my head

Next up: WELCOME BACK Jordon. Glad you are finally home. It was really good to see you last night. We had a good time at the BBQ (thanks Jeff and Cathy BTW). Nina, thanks for sticking by me last night while our significant others were…. Being…. Well. You know how they were. It’s nice to see them getting along again

Nevada Bob has started moving her stuff to her new place in Welland. For those who don’t know, she has moved away to go to school. Congrats Bob, we know you will do great.

No Bug reports to post. I haven’t been able to make it to the body shop in Grimsby yet to pick up a Por15 kit. Hopefully soon, so I can get to work seriously on this thing. Once school settles in, I will have more ambition. Last few weeks, I haven’t wanted to do anything.

Work has been stupid busy for the past week or so. Things with a certain individual have quieted down finally. At least for now. I still would like to punch him in the forehead, but I just don’t have it in me. St. Johns is at a point where the boss is happy and the school can start up Tuesday without any real problems. I’m sure things will show up next week or so, but at least we have a solid base to start with. Next week will be fixing problems there, and also finding out what broke over the course of the school year.

After a very long break, I am officially back working on the beetle. Lack of money and time over the past 8-12 months has really slowed things down. Money isn’t much better, but I actually have a place to work on the beetle in my own garage. I can just go out to my garage anytime the urge hits me and work on things. Step one for tonight was get the damned thing cleaned out. While it was at Mom and Dads place there wasn’t much room. So we all ended up using the bug as a storage spot for anything VW. Down side is, the floor pans have developed a hint of surface rust. L I removed everything from the car, and vacuumed out the sawdust and sand (from the sandblasting). I can actually see the inside of the car again.

Next up will be to get some POR15 paint and do the floor pans and engine bay. I’m hoping to pick it up this week and start in the evenings or next weekend if time permits after the ball tournament. After that, I  will be to either getting an engine from Alex or to bringing my old 1500cc from Dads place over here and start cleaning it up and prepping it for installation. I would much prefer to use Alex’s old engine, however time constraints and such have made acquiring the engine difficult. I will likely install my stock 1500cc as I know it runs, and runs well. If/When I get Alex’s engine, I will work on it in the garage and attempt to beef up the performance significantly. Turn it into a real road warrior. Once the buildup is complete, I will just swap engines.

Once the pans and engine bay have been painted with POR15; and the engine is ready to go back in; the next step will be electrical. And then the fun begins.
