Well, Shannon and I are bad parents. As I’m laying in bed last night I think to myself, “the puppies birthdays are coming up soon”. And then it dawns on me. We missed them. Chewie turned two on January 31st, and Bekka turned two yesterday. So I’m not totally bad, just a quite a bit.  I’m sorry babies. I forgot, and if it makes you feel any better, I feel horrible.

A week till Florida (as if I didn’t feel bad about missing their birthdays, now I’m leaving them behind for 10 days). Argh. Upside is, temperature is hovering in the 26-29degree range. And NO there is no minus sign in front of it. That’s right. WARM WEATHER. I’m excited and ready to go.

Almost caught up on work orders. If I keep my head in the game this week I should be able to have a clean slate before leaving. That would be excellent. That way, when I get back I will only have to deal with the backlog of things which broke while gone, and not have to deal with old work orders. And then its only two weeks till March break, so I should be able to catch up again.

Construction has officially commenced. Ground has been excavated, footings and foundations poured. The house construction has finally begun! Its neat to see the foundation in, as you can actually see things like the basement walls, where the garage doors will be, etc. I’ve decided instead of posting an update everyday, I will try and do an update each Friday night of all the pictures which were taken over the course of the week. If you go to the WEEK1 Gallery, you will see, in order the hole being dug, framing for the foundation and finally the foundation. Not bad for 1 week I guess. Hopefully I can talk someone into taking pictures while we are away. Be nice to see the progress when we come home.

Other news, well. There isn’t much that I haven’t already said. My suspension has made it to Pennsylvania, so hopefully it will make it into the hands of Alicia next week and eventually into my hands here in Canada. Wheels are packaged waiting for me to pick the up. Speaking of picking them up, we have 1.5 weeks till we leave for Florida. With this weather going up and down so much, I can not wait to get outta here. Not good for my migraines.

EDIT : Forgot to mention, car hit 20,000kms today. 4 months and 5 days. Not to shabby.

Well, someone must be reading my posts. Monday morning the surveyors came out and marked where our house is gonna be. Tuesday and Wednesday they started digging! WAHOO!  They were working on it some more later Wednesday afternoon, I will hopefully get some more, closer pictures tomorrow. Finally feels like something is happening.

My suspension is in the mail. Expected delivery date is Friday February 6th. Hopefully it shows up before Alicia decides to come into Canada. If not, I will likely have to wait a couple weeks which isn’t a huge deal, but it would still be nice to see the stuff 🙂
