1 Month of 2004 down, 11 to go :-). I would like to say thanks to Kyle aka Gus for the generation loan of an ATI Radeon video card. Though there are some hidden motives in loaning me the card (I.E.: getting me addicted to playing online war games with him, and some of the others from our IRC group). I have only lost a few hours of life so far, but fear the daily totals in time have been quickly going up. Damn you Gus 🙂

Other news, Robitailles STILL haven’t dug the hole for our house yet. It was supposed to be started two or three weeks ago, and then it got cold as hell and snowed ever since. With any luck they will start this week. With only 110 days until the closing date, I have very strong doubts that they will be able to fullfill the target date promise. Cross your fingers.  This week is supposed to be much milder and little or no snow. Hopefully we will see some progress.

Trip is planned and pretty much everything is ready to go. Just a matter of waiting for the departure date, and getting the hell out of here. Hopefully my car parts will be in before we go. Not that they will be going on before we leave, but still nice to have the stuff. All depends on how soon they ship the stuff, and when the next time Alicia will be in Canada.

Time to go get a microphone for the computer so I can talk in Team Speak while playing Vietcong.

Sigh, long frigging week. Yet, I feel like I haven’t accomplished anything. Two snow days, and a full day meeting on Friday basically kills this whole work week. I’m finally at a point where I’m pretty caught up, but if they don’t keep the schools open, and me out of meetings, I will never get those last few work orders completed. I guess having an empty inbox is a boring way to live anyways. Try and get it down as low as possible before heading out for my week+ of holidays. I can’t wait.

House seems to be delayed right now. All this snow is making it impossible to get the ground dug and foundation put in. Hopefully this will not set things back too much. We gave some slack with our end of May deadline, so that if they did come into a bad winter they would have some time to catch up in Spring. Will see. Right now I am not holding my breathe for a May 21st closing date, even though that is what we were told.

The budget for the Golf has been spent for the year. I decided to purchase a set of wheels while in Florida (as mentionned below). They are already paid for, I just have to pick them up on our holiday. Good thing its even on the way down. Don’t hardly have to deviate from the plan. Some one also brought to my attention that www.Shox.com was ending their promotion with Eibach during the first week of February. Essentially they have the suspension kits which I have been eyeing up for nearly 45% of normal cost. (About 60% lower then any local price I found.). So after talking it over with my financial advisor (Shannon), I placed my order. Luckilly Shannons and my friend Alicia who lives in the USA has said she will bring the parts up for me. Saving another 10-25% of the price by not having to pay the duties or terrifs or taxes. Her smuggling don’t come cheap. All-Dressed chips will be needed to bribe this Southern Belle. Thanks again Alicia! Down side is, Bug remains in pieces until my second job can pay off the visa. Shouldn’t take too long. But the car certainly wont be done by my Birthday. Figure I will pay of the suspension and wheels + the trip to Florida by the mid-late February, and then save like a good little boy until we get into the house. Then re-assess. Man I can’t wait to get this stuff on the Golf. Its gonna handle like a go-cart!

Shannon and I went and looked over the final plans for the house on Friday. Everything is good to go, and they will hopefully start digging this week or next. I can’t wait. Pictures are sure to come, as I drive by the lot every time I’m in Hagersville. Cross your fingers that it is a quick and smooth build.

More news, Shannon and I are taking some long over due actual holidays. From February 19-29th we will be going to FLORIDA!!!! Wahoo! No more sub zero temperatures!!! At least for a week and a half anyways. We are gonna fill up the TDI and drive all the way down. Its gonna be a blast. Plans are to stay with Grandma and Grandpa for some of the time, and to get a hotel a few nights as well. I have already picked up two 5 day hopper passes for Disney World so that will certainly be on the list of things to do. Other then that I will be picking up some new wheels for the car. (bought them used from a guy in Gainsville, so by going down I dont pay shipping!). The rest of the trip you will find me sitting on my ass by the water. Trying to get a tan.

Thats it for now. Maybe more later.
