Its official. The papers are signed, the condition is off and the cheque is written for the down payment. Shannon and I are buying a house. On or before May 21st, 2004 Shannon and I will be moving into our new home which is expected to be

#60 David Street

, in Hagersville. We are both very excited about the whole thing. No more renting!!!! No more throwing money into someone else’s bills!! Finally something of our own. And if you thought my cars we big projects, you aint seen nothing yet. Bug and Golf have a bit to be done with, but then its all house baby. We’re talking decks, hot tubs, pool tables, finishing the basement, and all kinds of stuff. I guess I should wait to get the house before I start modding it eh?

Here is a link to the house page.

Speaking of the Beetle, I have to say a huge thank you once again to Alex. Without him, this car would never get finished. His knowledge, ability, and his devotion to the project is what’s helping the job around. . I can’t wait till we get her on the road. It will certainly be worth the wait. Thanks again bro. You are the best.

Shannon and I went to her Dads house for a dinner/reception like deal for her step moms brother Rob and his new wife Gina. Once again Jeff out did himself. Food was excellent and we had a really good time. Congrats to Rob and Gina. (who got married in the summertime). Hopefully you guys are as happy as me and Jackass.  err Shannon.

Christmas is coming. Ye-Haw. I’ve had a productive week. Got a whack of gifts bought, and never stepped foot in mall. I rock. Now if I only knew what to get to the wife, i’d be set.

In the Christmas spirit, I will leave you with this. (its huge, and slow download for dialup users, so be consider yourselves warned.

Just a couple quick updates.  Quick Cam is back online somewhat. Its installed etc, I just normally leave the cover on it. See the link on left side of page. Golf has a new addition to it. I installed some clear corner markers on it. They look pretty sweet if I do say so myself. Little change = much better.

Been doing some body shop shopping in the last couple weeks. Getting prices to shave the handles, finish the body work and paint the beetle. Just a matter of deciding which shop to go with, and when to take it in. Looking to do that in January. I’m not even gonna think about trying to do it before Christmas.

Sold/traded some of my last remaining truck parts. My original drop kit is sold, and should be shipped out next week (once the money gets here). Also while talking to Hi-Fi about installing alarm/door poppers on the Beetle, I found out they had a great deal on some Alpine CD/Mp3 players. Essentially the same one i was looking to buy this spring for the bug. I also realized Al (the owner) was needing some rubber. So a bit of bartering later, I traded the tires in on THIS sexy beast. Only cost me 175$ said and done. Not bad for a CD player which normally retails for around 500$. Now I have a deck and 2 speakers for the bug, but no interior, paint even seats. Oh well. Couldn’t pass it up. Besides, wasn’t having much luck selling the rubber.

Check back tomorrow night for more updates 🙂

Under a month till Christmas. Yay. I’m excited. Can you tell? I actually don’t detest Christmas as much as everyone thinks I do. I actually quite enjoy it. Well, parts of it anyways. I love the getting together for the holidays, the traditions we all have (i.e.: Christmas Eve at Uncle Shoupies/Grandma and Grandpas place for late night drinks and of course way more food then any should partake in the course of one evening, getting up way to early for presents, breakfast Christmas morning and turkey in the evening). Now that I’m married things get a bit more complicated, but none the less, we will make it through, and try to do as much of everything as we can.  Even if we have to split up here and there to get to the things we find important, we will get through it. Have 3 years running, what’s a few more ;-). The part of Christmas I am not keen on it people buying gifts that they can’t afford to buy for people, who as much as they appreciate it, don’t really need anything. I know its a loosing battle for me, so I will try and enjoy, and hope everyone can avoid going overboard as they always do. As for the decorations, YES I love Christmas decorations. I just can’t get excited putting them up on a little townhouse or apartment. Next year, if all goes as planned, we will have our own house. Then Griswold’s: look out. I’m coming for your tackiest/gaudiest house title. And there isn’t anything Shannon can do to stop me. (debit card may slow me down, as I am poor), but if we accumulate stuff every year, in about 5 years time THIS is what you will be seeing on our house.

In other news:

HERE are the pictures from Mallory’s birthday at Pizza Hut. Sorry for the delay, but my camera was missing in action for a few weeks, along with it the pictures. The link is also on the photos page.

Tomorrow afternoon, I’m picking up a pair of clear bumper lights for the Golf. 40$ well spent to remove the ugly amber ones which are currently on there. Now all I need is some Eibach springs/shocks, set of 18″ wheels, Carecter bumpers and side skirts, and an ABT grill and some go fast goodies and the golf will be done 🙂 .. Too bad the Bug is on the top of the car modding list, not to mention buying a house puts a serious cramp in the modding. Not stops it. Just slows it down a tad. Pictures of the new clear corners will appear on the site soon.

Speaking of the beetle. Alex came over last weekend to help finish up the welding on the front end. End story: bug is ready to go for paint. As soon as my wallet catches up, she’s going in. Visa is going to love me. Hopefully it will be going in just before or just after Christmas. Once we get the house sorted out, I will know better. And that should be Monday or Tuesday of this coming week. Only thing left to do before it goes in is put in the new tie rods which Marks Bug Barn should have for me next week and then call the towing guys. Minimal body work, a couple fender nuts, and its ready for some colour. I can NOT wait. Until next time…..
